Blast From The Past...
Watching the movie Godzilla, *on cable about an hour ago* my attention was drawn to a particular character in the movie... No, not "the worm guy", not "Philippe Roaché" also known as Jean Reno *my hero* but a reporter/anchor. Wrong again, not "Audrey Timmonds" but but "Charles Caiman" the rude obnoxious narcissistic anchor guy out to steal the lime light/credit...
*To protect the person's identity, I'll just casually refer to her as the bitch. :P*
I not even sure where to start... This was during my short stint at the Singapore Tourism Board. I worked at as an customer service/information officer and the bitch was a fresh graduate student that worked in the same department. In total there was about 4-6 people working at one 10 hour shift. & some how, 75% of the time, I was stuck in the same shift as her... *Oh how did I survive?*
The bitch had her head jammed up all our supervisor's asses so far up she could probably pick their teeth for them... Telling them only the things they wanted to hear when they are around, not really giving a damn but just wanting it to seem like she did.
She had absolutely no ability to think on her own, despite her university education and had a disgusting habit of taking credit for the work of others. At the visitor's centre all customer service officers are suppose to log in certain data for STB's review including no of visitors and who had attended to them...
I remember, one day after a busy afternoon, I overheard her telling another colleague that she's help him input the data for evaluation, but when I went over to input my own data, I caught the bitch taking credit for the other colleague's work... Ugh.. Work ethics please...
In addition, I felt at that time that she tried too hard to impress people with all her knowledge, quoting Nietzsche, Max Weber, and such. I was pretty ok with her quoting stuff she understood.. But unfortunately her understanding was tenuous at best... She had a habit of taking quotes from people and using them in other conversations with others as her own ideas.
She literally made my skin crawl. Now thats a neat trick! Not not many girls have that effect on me, She wasn't ugly by my standards but I was just sick and tired of her requiring adoration. I mean how insecure was she? Totally socially inept, without self-awarness, in my eyes, she had hit rock bottom...
And it probably showed... My expression would darken at the sight of her and I think after some time she *finally* took the hint... She left me alone... Thank the heavens... It was soon after that I encountered a few problems with my work visa and had to stop work at STB. I was sad of course, I loved the colleagues *Well, most of them anyway...*, I loved the job, and hey the pay wasn't that bad either... But, one thing was for sure. I was glad that I didn't have to see "her" face at work anymore... Its people like her that turns a working enviroment from "nice" to "totally screwed up"...
After that, it was on to greener pastures... *Or so I thought...*
